Updates in this set span every expansion.

Overall
*The “to” and “from” for all zones have been adjusted to use the exact name of the zone. Took quite a bit of time trying to fix them all!

*The Nargilor Pits – redid entire zone from scratch. Clearly show fake floor trap.
*Stoneroot Falls – added all the missing ramps and cleaned up all the platform z-axis issues.
*Caverns of the Lost – cleaned up map and added walls that were straight.

The Serpent’s Spine
*Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale – added doors. Cleaned up final west wing room.
*Direwind Cliffs – cleaned up cliff area leading to Ashengate
*Sunderock Springs – adjusted zone line to Direwind Cliffs.
*The Steppes – added paths, terrain, adjusted zone lines, added buildings, many other improvements.

Rain of Fear
*Grelleth’s Palace, the Chateau of Filth – started fixing geometry for this zone. Looks better, but lot of work left.

Empires of Kunark
*Chardok – Remapped Sokokar area. Added missing Hunters.

 

 

Revised map for Temple of the Korlach

Just finished revising map for Temple of the Korlach (Illsalinb).  Redid almost entire map to get it clean. Will be included in October updates. Original map had lot of objects in SW area of zone, but they were minor variations of floor height. I only include pillars or walls in my map. Also, much easier to see the different underwater passages and layout.

New website section – Map Comparisions

I added a new section to the website called Map Comparisons. It can be found in the top menu.  I added this section to try to show highlights of some of the differences between my map files and others. The slider tool from Twenty20 made adding these very simple and if anyone has a Word Press site and looking for something similar, I highly recommend the plugin.

*Changed labels in multiple zones from Qeynos Catacombs to the correct zone name, Qeynos Aqueduct System.
* Qeynos Aqueduct System – revised labels referencing connections to North and South Qeynos. Added stairs and tweaked colors to make it a bit easier to see some layers.

Shadows of Luclin
* Paludal Caverns – recolored some areas from lower to upper areas.
* Changed labels in multiple zones from Shadowhaven to the correct zone name, Shadow Haven.

Planes of Power
Ragrax, Stronghold of the Twelve – redid entire map from scratch. All the maps I could find had horrible z-axis issues or were not accurate.

Depths of Darkhollow
* Undershore – added missing ramps. Recolored NW and SE areas to make it easier to see different levels and the underground areas.

Call of the Forsaken
* Agin-Hiz – added second floors to most of the houses. Also cleaned up circular buildings with nearby walls.

Ring of Scale
* Gorowyn – added multiple hunter mob locations
* Howling Stones – added multiple hunter mob locations

Ruins of Kunark
* Trakanon’s Teeth – added aqueduct level

Scars of Velious
* Tower of Frozen Shadow – remapped portions of several levels to fix walls and label fake walls.

Shadows of Luclin
* Tenebrous Mountains – added missing Coterie buildings in the eastern part of zone. Also redid areas of the large castle.

Depths of Darkhollow
* Corathus Creep – remapped all the buildings & structures in the southeastern area, including the gate. Added missing NPCs and some other named mobs.

Prophecy of Ro
* Theater of Blood – added terrain, remapped theater area, added rare NPCs
* The Elddar Forest – spent quite a bit of time cleaning up all the buildings, colorized the different levels, and added missing towers.  Added giant houses in western part of zone.

Call of the Forsaken
* The Dead Hills – added some Hunter locations
* Neriak Fourth Gate – added missing doors. Added pillars in western area. Fixed geometry and stairs.

The Darkened Sea
*Arx Mentis – cleaned up geometry, changed colors of some of the layers to make it easier to navigate. Added stairs. Maybe less people will get lost in this zone!
*Combine Dredge – worked on the towers. Added all levels and staircases. Note that the western tower has an upper level that is accessible by climbing one of the tentacles.

Over the last month, I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to finish Omens of War zones. Managed to slog through the instances, and aside from a large stack of jacinth’s, glad they are complete.  I’ve already finished Dragons of Norrath zones, and I will start trying to finish all of Depths of Darkhollow.

Omens of War
* The Bloodfields – redid entire map from scratch
* The Ruined City of Dranik – redid entire map from scratch

* City of Bronze – attributing original map from Unknown to Zigie. Found name in geometry of map. Recolored layers
* Sarith, City of Tides – recolored some of the layers
* Sepulcher of Order – recolored zone. Can now clearly see the two layers. Converted all non-walls to grey.

New set of map files 2018.05.15

It’s been about a month, time for another set of maps!  In this set, in pre-LDoN zones, I’ve tried to standardize the colors of paths, added tons of succor locations. Since I’ve reworked most of the zones prior to LDoN, I spent quite a bit of time in Omens of War and Gates of Discord.  Most of these maps were done a long time ago with automap on.  Spent countless hours on Sewers of Nihilia instances, Barindu, Riwwi, Bloodfields, Dranik’s Hollows instances, Sewers of Dranik, and Wall of Slaughter.  In Prophesy of Ro, I redid the coloring of the upper layers making it easier to understand the zone.  While in a 3-D mode, I reworked a few zones in The Darkened Sea, including the colors for the layers in Tempest Temple (along with redoing all the coral formations near Caverns of Endless Song.  Also, spent far too much time in Degmar, I added missing information, straighted out walls, did stairs, and recolored the different layers of zone. Took quite a bit of time, but even without a height filter on, it is much easier to see how to get around this zone.

Next the next map set should include all the remaining OoW and GoD zones I have not cleaned up. I should also have the remaining Darkened Sea maps redone.  After that, I’ll be filling in the gaps between those two.

Txevu: Remapped entire zone from scratch. All the maps I could find looked horrible, and most were upside down! Labeled all locked doors.
Qvic: Clarified zone-in location to Txevu.

Tipt: Labeled Harshly Spiked Key on locked door to Riddler area (and unpickable).
Omen’s of War:
Dranik’s Scar: Remapped entire zone from scratch. Added hill terrain. Looks much better.
Noble’s Causeway: Merged over 5,400 lines out of map with no loss of quality. Cleaned up large portions and added lots of details.
Wall of Slaughter: Started remapping this zone and realized Good had redone it recently. Fused his map with mine, but I’m still adjusting the upper castle areas.
Depths of Darkhollow:
The Hive: First cut and cleaning up this zone. Recolored and removed lot of confusing duplicate lines. Lot left to do, but holding off until I’m done through OoW.
The Serpent’s Spine:
Crescent Reach: Remapped the skeleton building in the NE newbie area. Added groundspawns. Labeled locked door in the inn area as pickable.
Blightfire Moors: Remapped the NW tower. Also remapped the SE Bixie houses.
Seeds of Destruction:
Oceangreen Hills: Remapped NE Castle and ramparts/upper areas. Remapped northern caves. Added missing NPCs and quest givers.
Oceangreen Village: Remapped houses. Added hill terrain. Added missing NPCs and quest givers.

Veeshan’s Peak: Recolorized zone, added doors, and added lots of collectible ground spawn locations.
